Taipei’s arcades and rooftops are vibrant though chaotic. They are testaments of adaptability, ingenuity and practicality. However, from the perspective of architecture, much improvements can be done for their quality of space, logics of tectonics and efficiency of the co-existing activities.

In this project, a light metal structure stands on top of the concrete slab above the arcade. The not-on-grid columns and the seemingly random but accurately calculated trusses which were for resisting earthquakes’ horizontal
forces are attempts to create a balance between rationality and irrationality.

從「生命力」的角度看紛亂無章但輕盈的台式場景，不難發現有一種充滿活力且不屈服的能量。它是一種對於應變性、創造性與實用性的見證。若從建築的角度看空間品質、構造邏輯以及機能共存的效益，就似乎有很大改善的空間。

在山屋中，騎樓上方的混凝土板是輕鋼構站立的基礎。透過解構理性的結構矩陣排列以及看似有機但被計算過抵抗水平地震力的斜撐與圓棒，建立了一套理性與非理性共存的結構系統。
